For many years I had seen this lighthouse from the Judith Pond side as we sailed our sloop cautiously up into the shallow harbor from Point Judith Harbor of Rescue, taking in the sight of this Snug Harbor Lighthouse. One day I ventured down there by car to get a closer look. Always fascinated by lighthouses and their surrounding out-buildings, the road stopped abruptly, nearly driving myself into the drink. I enjoyed the changing light at the water's edge, sketching and imagining lighthouse folks tending to their day's work.
